After running the Chicago Marathon multiple times, I wanted a auto/fridge/random metal surface magnet to commemorate the achievement. Unhappy with the designs available, I decided to create my own. This design was also made available to others with all money earned going to Girls on the Run, a youth development organization that incorporates running into its curriculum.
The colors used in the magnet were inspired by those used in the flag of the City of Chicago with the decimal in 26.2 replaced by one of the four stars that appears on the flag.
Magnet in action. This design proved so popular that there were reports of the magnet being stolen from cars upon which they were affixed.
