Crown Heights Running Club
I created this identity for the Brooklyn-based Crown Heights Running Club, the primary purpose being greater name recognition for the club. The typeface — Cooper Black — was selected because of its use on the signage of countless small businesses throughout the city and as the iron-on lettering of choice for many hip-hop crews during the late 70’s and early 80’s. The tilted crown atop the O was inspired by Baron Claiborne’s iconic portrait (“The King of New York”) of The Notorious B.I.G.
